Baravore wicklow ireland
Hi caving club..
I love your website..
Its very exciting stuff.
I'm an amateur caver myself.
I don't dive or anything so I stick to the easy less risky stuff.
I have been visiting baravore in wicklow in ireland for years.
Thanks to your guide I have found most of the mines there.
I re found adit 1 .2 .and 6 on your map..
Adit 2 was my goal this summer. I have been hesitant to visit the unstable adit 3
It took me 3 years to find this mine as it all heavily overgrown and surrounded by 14 foot trees now.
I completely explored said adit and have videos, pictures and gps co ordinates if you are interested.
All the artifacts you described are still there.
However one bad storm or
Tree fall and it will be hidden forever.
When was the last visit you made to this mine..
If my maths are correct it may not have been visited in 30 years.
There was 3 pieces of wood laid out on a rock shelf.
Hi Chris, glad that you found something of interest on The Pegasus website.
When we first started looking at Baravore the entire area was covered in mature forest which was then cut down and replanted.
It is 25 years since we visited the site so I imagine that the new forest is well established.
I would be very interested to see your photos and video plus the GPS coordinates, any info could be added to the website article for future reference, accredited to yourself of course.
When our research was undertaken I was living in the UK but I moved to County Clare 21 years ago but have never been back to the site.
Best Regards

By chance, while I was trying to remember the name of cave I once visited a long time ago, I came across the excellent account of the your 1968 expedition to the gorges of the Dades and the Todra. I remember that wonderful group of young men who kindly picked me up when I was hitchhiking somewhere south of Marakech. I would like to thank you all once again for including me on that marvellous trip. I was very sad to hear that big Al had died. He was a very nice man and a lot of fun. I hope that the rest of you are well and still enjoying life.
Wishing you all the best,
Yours sincerely,
Mid-Willie

It was amazing to come across the Pegasus Caving Club website after so many years. Myself and my friend Stuart Lowe were involved in the club for a brief period between 1978 and 1980. One of my biggest regrets is not keeping up caving. If I could ask a favour, I'd be very grateful if you change my first name to it's correct spelling.
Many thanks and best wishes. Allistair Lomax

Hi Allistair, Your name as be updated. If you care to forward me your contact details I will let you know about the forthcoming Pegasus Club Reunion in October. Do you have photos etc relating to your time with The Pegasus?
Love scrolling thru the different pages, I was only 16 at the time but I still go to Dogman Slack Farm every few years. Once a week we go to the Bulls Head at Monyash , it feels like home!
